Alex has a diverse background in web development, system architecture, servers/networks, databases, telephony, and team leadership. His core specialty is the planning, design, and development of enterprise web applications for small to mid-sized businesses and non-profit entities. His interest in technology began in 1994 while assisting his high school teachers as a student technician at South Salem High School. It was there he learned he had a strong aptitude in computers, electronics, and software. At end of Alex's senior year at high school, he joined the Oregon Army National Guard as an Infantryman and served part-time which allowed him to attend college and earn a Bachelor's in Business Information Systems. In 2002, he officially began his career in technology as a technician at Gateway computers, but his Army unit was activated for the Iraq War in 2003. This experience offered him the unique experience of team leadership in combat missions. During the Iraq deployment, he used downtime to teach him himself web application development and web architecture. After the deployment, Alex joined a few fellow soldiers to form a start-up company writing OSHA compliance web software. Since that time, he's worked for various government entities and private companies as a developer, system administrator, systems architect, and IT Manager. He has also held management positions leading junior technicians and developers in various organizations and projects. Alex's passion and primary specialty is working in the Microsoft stack (ASP.NET, Core, C#, SQL) with a focus on building enterprise web applications.
